Waterproof Tear-Resistant Topographic Map

National Geographic's Trails Illustrated map of Merced and Tuolumne Rivers is an essential travel companion for outdoor enthusiasts exploring this area just west of Yosemite National Park. Novice and experienced explorers alike will benefit from this expertly researched map, created in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service and others. In addition to Merced and Tuolumne Wild and Scenic Rivers, coverage includes many popular recreation areas in and around Stanislaus National Forest, including Calaveras Big Trees State Park, Tuolumne State Game Refuge, Interface Recreation Area, Stanislaus River's north, middle and south forks, Pinecrest Lake, Spicer Meadow Reservoir and Hells Kitchen.

Hundreds of miles of mapped trails, shown with mileage markers, provide ample recreational opportunities within the forest for hikers, horseback riders and backpackers. Also mapped is an accurate road network, including four-wheel-drive roads, Forest Service roads and scenic byways (with their scenic overlooks). Navigate the area, aided by the map contour lines, elevations, labeled peaks and summits, water features, selected waypoints, areas of wooded cover and clear color-coded boundaries between different land management agencies. Pinpointed are areas for parking, camping (including RV and horse camps), fishing, swimming and skiing. Every Trails Illustrated map is printed on "Backcountry Tough" waterproof, tear-resistant paper. A full UTM grid is printed on the map to aid with GPS navigation.
